The Chairman ensures that the day to day management of the GAIA is conducted. He represents the views of the membership and ensures that the agreed objectives of GAIA are met. He adopts a strategic view on the direction that the committee takes and redefines objectives when needed. If you feel that GAIA is not serving its membership or the public just let him know.

The role of the Administrator is to co-ordinate all GAIA activities; arrange and minute all meetings; to ensure there is communication with all committee members so that there is a timely response to all enquiries and membership issues; to ensure the governance structure is reviewed and updated where necessary. Also providing liaison with partnership organisations.

Mark Roberts

The Standards & Practices Officer ensures that the standards set at assessment are maintained and works closely with the Assessment and Assessors Officer to ensure the assessments are fit for purpose.

The Standards & Practices Officer is also responsible for the investigation and initial management of any complaint made about a member and responsible for putting the facts to a disciplinary hearing.

The Events Coordinator/Organiser's role is to ensure various shows/open days nationwide (i.e. CLA, CPPD (Contuined Personal and Professional Development)) are adequately staffed with the appropriate qualified instructors and helpers and have the necessary equipment and promotional material needed to promote GAIA as a professional organisation.

The role of the Assessors and Examination Chairman is to prepare and manage the twice yearly main assessment events, working in conjunction with the Standards & Practices Officer. Also, to maintain links with Regional Organisers as they plan their assessments. The role also manages and develops the teams of both Assessors and Mentors.

The role of Membership Secretary is to collate and update all membership details, to deal with all enquires for prospective members and supply them with the necessary application forms.

Gareth Lewis

The Website Administrator is responsible for all aspects of the day to day management, technical support, maintenance, and operation of the GAIA website, it’s forum, and it’s users, and to ensure a safe and secure environment in relation to all web-based systems. Also, and in conjunction with the Management Team, to advise on and implement future development and growth, and to maintain the security and integrity of all GAIA software systems.

John Symonds

The Regional Coordinator is responsible for supplying resources and support to GAIA regional events such as casting clinics at Country Fairs, CPPD (Continued Personal & Professional Development) days for Members and open days. Other duties include the communication of ideas and policy between the GAIA Committee and regional organisers and a certain amount of PR work for the organisation.
