GAIA Spring Weekend 2012 at Llangollen, North Wales

The two and a half day event commenced with assessments on Friday, March 9th 2012, and very high levels of skill were demonstrated by the four successful candidates:

  • Roger Miles - APGAI Single-Handed
  • Peter Lax - GAIC Single-Handed
  • John Boon - GAIC Single-Handed
  • Paul Ainsworth - GAIC Fly Dressing

BFFI 2011 - A Report From The Show

BFFI 2011

Another great year at the British Fly Fair International, with GAIA attending the full weekend in order to discuss all things fly fishing and fly ting. A great success for the Association, with Alberto Laidlaw, Louis Noble, and Mark Roberts stepping up to help with the weekend-long task of fly tying at the GAIA stand. This isn't easy work, so hats off to the guys for answering all the question and queries, and for giving their advice so readily.

GAIA Spring Meeting 2011 A Success!

GAIA held another successful and fantastic weekend event at Caer Beris, Builth Wells from the 6th to the 8th of May 2011. Starting with an 80% pass rate for assessment candidates on the Friday, the weekend was followed by a series of workshops on various fishing techniques and tactics held by members with special skills. The theme of the event was "Widening the Knowledge of Members" so that they would be better equipped for guiding in a variety of fishing situations.
