Choosing an Instructor
So why choose a qualified instructor?
It is advisable that a newcomer to 'Game Angling' should seek 'professional' advice in whatever field they may wish to partake. By choosing an Instructor with a recognised qualification the participant can at least be confident that the quality of Instruction will be of a recognised standard.
What does qualification involve?
In order to join the Game Angling Instructors' Association, prospective members will have been examined thoroughly not only on their own practical skills, but also on their ability to teach and to analyse and rectify faults. The Association recognises a number of qualifications as eligible for membership.
A Code of Conduct
Members of the Game Angling Instructors' Association are obliged to adhere to a Code of Conduct, which regulates matters relating to client safety and business.
Insurance?
U.K. resident members of the Game Angling Instructors' Association are automatically covered by the Association's group insurance policy, covering professional indemnity and third party liability. Members who reside outside the U.K. are obliged, under the Association's Rules, to take out appropriate insurance in their own countries.
Where to find Instructors
Practising members of the Game Angling Instructors' Association can be found in the Directory of Members. For convenience, this Directory is arranged alphabetically by name, but may be sorted by Country or by County for members resident in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. One may also search for instructors qualified in particular disciplines, e.g. 'salmon', or 'fly dressing'.
